Documentation The ISHMP provides the following guides as means of helping users who are new to the Imote2 and associated operating systems and languages get started using the system. It is assumed that the user does not have an extensive background in computer science or the civil engineering theory behind the algorithms. Instead, the assumption is that the user is familiar with basic Windows operation and has a desire for a smart health monitoring system that can be installed easily by most civil engineers. For Users with Preconfigured Imote2s This ISHMP Quick Start Guide will guide the user through the necessary steps to acquire data with the Imote2 smart sensor platform using the SHM-A sensor board. This guide assumes that you have Imote2s that are preconfigured with Illinois Structural Health Monitoring Project (ISHMP) data acquisition software. For General Users and Developers These guides are intended for those that will be doing more than participating in demonstrations where Imote2s with preinstalled software are provided. Any user who wishes to expand the functionality or customize the software will need to follow the guides in this section. There are three guides that will help the user install and use the necessary software components for performing SHM using Imote2s and the ISMHP Toolsuite. The Getting Started with the Imote2 guide will help the user setup the Imote2 and the PC environment. The Getting Started with the ISHMP Toolsuite will help the user install the ISHMP library and test applications. In a new install, these guides should be followed in that order. After installation, the Imote2 for Structural Health Monitoring: User's Guide provides a tutorial on how to use a network of Imote2s installed with the ISHMP toolsuite for SHM. |
